Another one of our favourite churches is Santa Maria Novella. Most notably is the Renaissance facade, which has perfect geometry and is an architectural gem. Requirements for an Italian Catholic Wedding
Several requirements need to be met to have an Italian Catholic Wedding.
- Attend Pre-Cana classes as well as provide the necessary baptism and confirmation certificates.
- Gain permission from your Parish Bishop
- The Catholic Church will not marry you if you are divorced, and the wedding was not officially annulled.
- Issue paperwork within six months of the proposed wedding date, but not before otherwise, it will expire.
- The Italian Curia must receive religious paperwork at least two months before the wedding.
- Catholic weddings in Italy can be legally binding.
- Depending on the church location, you might be asked to have the civil ceremony before arriving in Italy.
- Your Parish Bishop will have to approve mixed religion weddings.
- Celebrate your ceremony in English or Italian (with an interpreter, if required).
- Finally, choose your wedding dress with sensitivity. No bare shoulders.
