When I get selected by a couple to plan their special day, I feel very grateful and I feel blessed to do my job because I love what I do!
Last week I was interviewing a candidate to see if I would be a good match to plan her wedding. She asked me what the pros and cons are about my job? I stopped for a second and then I thought about it. Being a wedding planner is not as easy as people think, but I cannot see any real down side to my job. I thought about it again and could really only see the beauty and bliss that comes from months of hard work and effort. What some people see as dreary and difficult, I see as interesting and challenging.
In general, I am always lucky with my clients because I get really REALLY nice people as my clients. My couples also have extremely nice families and friends. I was telling one of my clients that this year was incredible for me in terms of having wonderful clients to work with. He looked at me and said nice people attract nice people.
I aim to give my best and I always strive to make a couple’s wedding day the best day possible–I am always surprised by how much people appreciate what my team and me do. It’s such a tremendous responsibility and a beautiful sign of trust for couples to rely on my to execute the plans for their big day. The best thing that I could hear is a bridge and groom say that it was the best day of their lives because I know that I did my job well–this makes all the stress and worry worthwhile!
Over the years, I have realized how much clients appreciate our work and the time we dedicate to them. I personally do not even consider what I do a job, because it has become such a passion of mine. Jobs like this take an extra level of commitment and extra time to make sure that what needs to be done is achieved–and I full heartedly take this commitment on.[:]
