Two Weddings, One Love
Julie and Peter’s love story is a testament to the power of love, unity, and cultural diversity.
Their decision to celebrate both their Western and Chinese heritages speaks volumes about their commitment to honor their roots while embracing their shared future. The scenery at the weddings was nothing short of a fairytale. Borgo di Vignamaggio in Tuscany, Italy, is a place where time stands still. The venue provided a 360-degree view of rolling hills, vineyards, and cypress trees that stretched as far as the eye could see. Guests were treated to the breathtaking Tuscan countryside, a serene and picturesque backdrop that added an extra layer of enchantment to the occasion.
Day one, The Chinese Wedding
Julie and Peter are a couple in love from the USA with Chinese heritage which makes this weekend special. It started on a Friday with a lively Chinese wedding ceremony. In Chinese culture the red symbolizes joy and happiness which makes it an important colour in traditional ceremonies. The minimal yet impactful use of red in their Chinese wedding added a touch of cultural significance to the celebration. A Chinese wedding features an elegant ceremony with 4 stages doing the day that symbolizes the birth of a new fortunate family. The pre-wedding ceremony is held with an ancient ritual where the groom kneels before the parents and gives them a cup of tea and asks for permission to marry. The tea is more than just a beverage it is a part of their national identity, the Tea symbolizes life itself. The ceremony was adorned with traditional Chinese lanterns that cast a warm and inviting glow over the festivities. Julie, the radiant bride, wore a traditional Chinese wedding dress, a stunning embodiment of Chinese culture and her love for Peter. For dinner they decided to offer the guests a delicious BBQ arranged by Galateo Ricevimenti. In order to keep the Chinese traditions, they decided to have a Bubble tea bar at the disposal of the guests. Traditional BBQ primarily consists of pieces of marinated meat, such as beef, pork or chicken, which are grilled over an open fire on a table grill that is shared with friends and family.
Day two, The White Wedding
The music was such an important part of Julie & Peter’s wedding that the bride decided to walk down the aisle – escorted by her lovely parents – on a customized song especially created for that occasion. It was such a romantic moment that everyone who was around will never forget.
Picture this: Julie, radiant as ever, graced the aisle in a gown adorned with delicate flowers that mirrored the beauty of their surroundings. Her dress was a work of art, perfectly complementing the romantic setting of Borgo di Vignamaggio. Peter was her perfect match, looking marvelous in his dashing suit. Food is an essential part of any celebration, and Julie and Peter’s wedding was no exception. The cuisine was beyond delicious, a symphony of flavors that delighted their guests’ taste buds. Italian delicacies paired with fine wines made the day even more memorable provided by the Italian caterer Galateo Ricevimenti.
The Artistry of I Fiori di Nadia
The flowers at the white wedding were a sight to behold. Bursting with shades of pink, red, and delicate pastels, the arrangements by I Fiori di Nadia added a touch of magic to the already enchanting atmosphere. The venue was transformed into a floral wonderland, a true reflection of Julie and Peter’s love in full bloom. The florist used different types of roses in different shades of pink that together with peonies, carnations and ranunculus created the perfect atmosphere for a late spring wedding.
The food
The menu served to the lucky guests was a great sample for the famous Italian food tradition. During the cocktail hour the guests enjoyed the famous Aperol Spritz, than they seated down for dinner. The Mezzi Paccheri fresh pasta with duck ragout, fried sage and raspberries was served as firs course, followed by a Risotto Carnaroli with red prawns from Sicily and Champagne. For the main course, the guests could choose between Wild sea bass steak with Champagne and lemon and seasonal vegetables
with extra virgin olive oil or Veal fillet with Vinsanto wine sauce
Green beans chives tied and Potato flan truffle flavored. For those who followed a vegetarian diet, an Eggplant Parmigiana on a tomato coulis was available. As they got married in a winery, the wines were provided by Vignamaggio Wine cellar: the Red Chianti Classico Riserva, the white wine Tramonte and a delicious rosé wine Albaluce. To toast with the cake, Julie & Peter prefered the Moscato D’Asti provided by the catering Galateo.
The cake
Julie & Peter decided for the traditional Italian wedding cake Millefeuille, that was prepared in front of the guests by the talented pastry chef from Galateo Ricevimenti.
The cake was filled with a delicious chantilly cream and decorated with a cascade of almond brittles and wild berries. The newlyweds cut the cake on the notes of Sugars by Maroon 5 while the fireworks lighted up the Tuscan sky.
A Party to Remember
As the sun dipped below the Tuscan horizon, Julie and Peter’s wedding transformed into a vibrant party with the help of Wedding music & Lights. The celebration was nothing short of a banger, featuring a talented saxophonist, a skilled violinist, and a DJ who kept the dance floor alive. The vibe and type of music that they loved to dance to was Top 40, Pop, and EDM (electronic dance music) – ideal for a night of dancing and revelry.
As the stars twinkled in the Tuscan sky that night, Julie and Peter began a new chapter of their love story, one that will undoubtedly be as breathtaking and beautiful as their weddings in the heart of Tuscany – a story of love that transcends borders, cultures, and expectations.
