Lisa & Ryan
Lisa & Ryan came to us with the idea of a dream destination wedding in Italy that would leave them with a lifetime of memories. With friends and family flying in from all over the world, they asked us to create a spectacular weekend of events that was truly unforgettable.
Italy is the perfect place for a destination wedding. Located in central Europe, we have connections all over the world. Furthermore, the culture and history create a picture-perfect backdrop for your dream day.
An Italian Welcome
Food and drink are a large part of Italian culture. We bring families together around a meal, and there is no better way to welcome your guests in style. Therefore, we believe that hosting a welcome dinner is the perfect way to start a destination wedding in Italy.
So, the Thursday evening before the wedding, The Tuscan Wedding organised a Pizza party for everyone to attend. Everyone was welcomed to Italy in style with classic stone-baked pizzas, prosecco, and laughter.
An Intimate Catholic Ceremony & Rehearsal Dinner
Both Lisa and Ryan wanted a traditional Catholic wedding alongside their luxury destination wedding in Italy. Therefore, they headed to Chiesa Della Certosa church with close friends and family for an intimate ceremony on Friday morning. It was a special touch for them and their family.
Later that evening, they wowed guests even more with a stunning rehearsal dinner at B-Roof. It is on the roof of the historic Grand Hotel Baglioni and has 360-degree views over Florence. Without a doubt, it left guests in awe.
The Bride & Groom
The bride wore an elegant mermaid strapless satin gown paired perfectly with an embroidered cathedral veil. Furthermore, her long train and veil were a showstopper as she walked down the aisle to meet her groom. The final touch was her bouquet, full of soft pink English roses and delicate carnations.
Moreover, Ryan looked dapper in his classic black tuxedo, his face full of love as she approached.
A destination wedding in Italy
Having a destination wedding in Italy means you can have your ceremony outside and celebrate surrounded by the rolling hills of Tuscany. So, on a perfect Saturday in September, they held a glorious symbolic ceremony in the gardens of Villa Mangiacane.
The flowers were some of the grandest and most luxurious we had ever seen. Flowers Living, their florists, filled the ceremony with swathes of flowers. Hydrangeas and roses lined the aisle, while large floral urns framed their ceremony. Furthermore, these stunning displays filled the ceremony with the beautiful fragrance of Italian flowers.
After the ceremony, Lisa and Ryan captured their day with stunning portraits by Purewhite Photography. The Olive groves and perfectly landscaped Villa Mangiacane created memories that they can enjoy for a lifetime.
Cocktails and Dinner at Villa Mangiacane
Italy prides itself on delectable food and drink. Therefore, guests enjoyed classic Italian cocktails and canapes in the Villa’s gardens before heading to the Loggia for an Italian feast.
Villa Mangiacane has an exclusive catering team that created this exquisite menu for Lisa and Ryan.
The aperitifs were a selection of mouthwatering charcuterie, cheeses and breads. In addition, they served Aperol Spritzes, Prosecco and Sparkling Rose Wine to celebrate their destination wedding in Italy.
They started with a flan of local ricotta, bacon, and asparagus for the wedding breakfast. Secondly, the traditional Italian pasta course of Lamb Ragout and fresh fusilli is followed shortly by showstopping Beef and Porcini Mushrooms. Finally, they were all served with roast potatoes and Caponata, a traditional Sicilian dish of aubergine and vegetables in a tomato sauce.
They finished the meal with a delectable Tiramisu, the perfect Dolci for an Italian wedding, as a perfect finishing touch.
The Details of a Destination wedding in Italy
The Tuscan Wedding prides itself on creating luxurious and bespoke weddings for each couple. They plan everything to perfection, down to every detail.
Lisa and Ryan’s day was no exception, from the handcrafted invitations, by The Wedding Letters to helping design each floral arrangement.
Additionally, the cake was created by Sugarcups and incorporated their floral styling into a three-tier masterpiece that wowed the guests.
Finally, they finished the evening with fireworks as they cut the cake, which created a showstopping finish to a perfect day.
Working on this destination wedding in Italy has been nothing but a dream from start to finish. Bringing their luxury weekend wedding together was a pleasure and we would love to thank Lisa and Ryan for trusting us with their vision.
